What is an introvert, exactly? What is the difference between an introvert and an extravert?
The general understanding is that introverts = quiet loners, whereas extraverts = bubbly socialites, but this oversimplification is actually wildly inaccurate. Not all introverts are asocial hermits, and not all extraverts are party goers. In fact, some introverts can be talkative and social – and extraverts, believe it or not, can even be shy.
So what’s the difference?
The answer is as complex as it is simple. Without a proper understanding of what the two terms mean, it can be highly confusing. So to ease the confusion, I wrote this list.
My new article, published on TopTenz.net, is titled Ten Things That Everyone Gets Wrong About Introverts. And although the focus of the article is on introversion, don’t worry; extraversion comes up quite a bit, as well. Introverts and extraverts are equally capable of doing amazing things, and when people of both types can learn to understand each other better, then cooperation, teamwork and even personal relationships all become a great deal easier.
So grab a coffee, enjoy the read, and have a nice Sunday afternoon!
